The Adventures of Pinocchio.
The Virtual Museum of pine nuts.

In a period in which the distance between natural and artificial is becoming more pronounced, especially in big cities when it comes to a tree that characterizes the Italian landscape, pine, Pinus pinea , or Pine Italic fact, happen to hear (even from the entry of qualified technicians of urban green spaces), that such tree to remove (or prune recklessly until it assumes forms a plume) from the Italian cities because unsafe. We do not want here and now going into the merits of this controversy (surely we do in another place and time) but only passes the praise of its ancient and precious seed: the pine that is not only since the time of the Romans, the fundamental ingredient of Italian dishes and desserts (see the pesto or pine nuts) has been the inspiration behind the most famous Italian novel for children or "The Adventures of Pinocchio. Story of a Marionette" written in 1881 by Carlo Collodi , pseudonym of Carlo Lorenzini famous writers, and published in Florence in 1883 (see the photo on the cover of an edition of Florence of the Bemporad 1935). We read from the Dictionary of Language Italian already compiled by the search for 'in 1838 that: " Pinocchio is the seed of the pine in closed shell, or core, likewise said Pinocchio, has in the long Pinocchio." Today, then, there are different festivals taking place in the pine throughout Italy (remember that among all of San Piero a Grado in the province of Pisa). We invite you to take a trip into Virtual Museum of Pinolo , a site created by "CIRA-Interdepartmental Centre for Agro-environmental research Enrico Avanzi" 's University of Pisa, full of ideas and information that prove the value and ancient Italian culture in the presence of Pinus pinea and his precious seed.
