2011 has been proclaimed by ' United Nations "International Year of Forests" in response to the persistent and devastating problem of deforestation, for this reason: " from forests depends on the health and life of the planet and the wood is still the last system untouched and full of life, where you can meet the deep embrace of nature." Despite the various initiatives that are taking place in Italy in 'arc of the next month, dedicated to this important event in which the trees are the protagonists (And of which we will place on this blog), in our country still are not talking about a contest to elect our national tree. We are proposing for some time on these pages. We hope that, as has already happened in other parts of the world, sooner or later someone at the institutional level, adds to incorporate our message. In the meantime, take lessons from France, which has launched a national competition really well done, with attractive graphics and careful organization to elect their own tree this year.
